Senior Digital Strategist Evan Arcoria shared tips and tricks for a successful GivingTuesday in our recent Fundraising Refreshments webinar. Watch the recording below to learn more.
We all know how stressful this time of year can be. With organizations fundraising most of their annual goals in the last few months of the year, this is the time to shift all initiatives into overdrive. One way to do this is to participate in GivingTuesday.
GivingTuesday began as a single day to encourage people to give, whether that be a donation, their time or their resources, to spread kindness and generosity. This movement continues to grow every year, expanding to not just a single day but to a mindset on what it means to give.
This is great for the movement and means it’s becoming more recognizable to donors. But this also means that there’s a lot more competition for funds.
Standing out among the crowd is key for a successful GivingTuesday. Here are a couple of ways how:
- Customizable GT logo: Did you know you can change the #GT logo? GivingTuesday offers the option to customize their logo colors and style to allow your organization creative freedom.
- K.I.S.S.: Keep it simple and straightforward. Remember that this is bigger for us than for our donors. They need to be reminded of this amazing opportunity to give to their community. But don’t overthink it. Simplify how you communicate to your donors and keep your message strong.
From here, Evan breaks down the three areas of focus for GivingTuesday: Audience, purpose and tactics and how these come into play, with some examples in email, text messaging and digital channels.
